As some readers of this list know, I wrote in the Scholarly Kitchen
earlier this year about the Edwin Mellen Press's lawsuit against Dale
Askey. EMP took exception to my two postings and to some of the
comments they engendered, and their attorney sent a threatening letter
to the Society for Scholarly Publishing. In consultation with me and
with my full approval, SSP removed the postings and posted the letter
itself on the SK website. The letter is highly informative. Anyone
