Thank you for all your replies. Let me provide an example.

Springer.com shows 2,382 titles when I searched for "books, book
series and text books" with "2014" as copyright year, through
"advanced search" option.

These titles will not be available to customers who have bought 2013
ebook collection upfront, because the CR year is 2014. As per the
licenses, 2013 collection means, 2013 as CR year, not published in
2013.

By using 2014 as CR year, the customers are denied access titles
published in 2013 (we are just passing half-way of 2013).

Hope this issue is more clear to all of us.
