Dear colleagues,

The California Digital Library seeks a Shared Print Operations and
Collections analyst to coordinate existing and emerging shared print
initiatives among the University of California Libraries and other
extramural partners, including the Western Regional Storage Trust
(WEST).

Shared print is a collaborative effort of the ten campuses of the
University of California and other academic libraries to enable the
libraries to meet the information needs of faculty and students in the
21st century through efficient acquisition, sharing and restructuring
of physical collections. The Shared Print program assumes a leadership
role in planning sustainable cooperative collection development and
management initiatives for print collections. The program guides and
provides focus for the libraries in formulating strategies, policies
and operational approaches to managing physical research collections
in a digital age.

Reporting to and working closely with the Shared Print Manager, the
successful candidate will have a passion for facilitating cooperative
collection management initiatives among libraries. The successful
candidate analyzes collections, and works with data, collections
officers, and many librarians to propose and facilitate retention and
other collection management decisions. S/he is an excellent
communicator, capable of guiding groups in complex technical and
cross-institutional issues to arrive at common practices. S/he serves
as a main operational contact for shared print projects among many
libraries and storage facilities.

The position is a three (3) year contract position.

Relocation to Oakland, CA is preferred. Depending on experience, this
position may work remotely from somewhere in the western region of the
United States and travel periodically to the California Digital
Library.

First review date of applications will be Friday, February 10, 2017.
Open until filled.
