Dear colleagues,

I'd like to share a few scholarship opportunities to attend the
Charleston Conference:

EBSCO Charleston Conference Scholarship

Scholarship Amount: up to $1,000
Application Deadline: Wednesday, October 1, 2014

Applicants must:

* Currently work as a librarian or para-professional

* Provide one professional recommendation

* Provide a Curriculum Vitae

* Submit short essay (up to 1,000 words) on the following topic:
Please describe three professional objectives and how attending the
Charleston Conference will help you to achieve them.

All application documents should be sent electronically to Kate
Burgess at EBSCO ([log in to unmask]) by October 1, 2014. Scholarship
money must be used to attend the 2014 Charleston Conference.

IGI Global Charleston Conference Scholarship

Scholarship Amount: $500
Deadline: Friday, October 17

IGI Global is proud to continue our Academic Librarian Sponsorship
Program, which sponsors librarians’ attendance of the industry’s most
important events. In an ongoing effort to help librarians grow
professionally and increase their understanding of the changing state
of knowledge resources, IGI Global will award one librarian a $500
stipend for attendance of the Charleston Conference.

To apply for this sponsorship opportunity, librarians are asked to
submit a 250-word essay describing why they should be awarded the
stipend by Friday, October 17th. Further specifications can be found

SAGE Photo Contest

Extended application deadline = September 23

SAGE is proud to announce the 2014 Charleston Photo Competition,
ending September 23. To participate, academic librarians in the US and
Canada are invited to send a photo that responds to the question,
“What is your favorite library tradition?” The first-place winner will
receive a grant for full registration to the 2015 Charleston
Conference as well as $500 for travel, and eleven runner-ups will each
receive a $50 Amazon gift card.
