Knowledge and transformation are interconnected in a research
landscape that has seen more change in the last year than in the last
several decades. We invite you to hear from three expert speakers who
are empowering knowledge in library and research environments. They
will share stories about how they are managing change in scholarly and
faculty settings, the challenges they are facing in their
organization's research process, and the integrated discovery and
collaboration solutions researchers are using on their journeys to
making an impact

When & Where:
Saturday, January 25, 2014
1:30PM - 3:30PM (Eastern Time)
Location: Philadelphia Marriott Downtown - Grand Ballroom F (Level 5)
(Light refreshments provided)

Three speakers will present their own vision of the current and future
research experience:

Empowering knowledge in a changing research landscape

1. Discovery: Research Landscape
Helen Josephine, Head Librarian of Terman Engineering Library
Stanford University

The researcher's ability to process information and highlight
discoveries are vital to the continuity of research breakthroughs.
What does the discovery ecosystem in the scholarly community look like
today?

2. Change: Technology and Policy
Brenda L. Johnson, Ruth Lilly Dean of University Libraries
Indiana University Bloomington

Change in information discovery and dissemination continues to happen
at a rapid pace. What challenges lie ahead for librarians and
universities?

3. Collaboration: Enriching the Research Experience
Cameron Ross, Vice President of Product Management
Elsevier

How do all the pieces come together to enrich the research experience,
in terms of integrating discovery tools, technological innovation and
information?
