The publisher Thieme is currently experimenting with a
Pay-What-You-Want model - letting authors pay whatever publication
charge they feel appropriate.

Do any readers of this list have research or opinions about the effect
of raising or lowering the APC (article publication charge) of a
journal on submissions? Do more authors submit to journals with lower
APCs? Does raising the APC result in fewer submissions?

I'd welcome any thoughts on this - either confidentially to me
directly, or on this list for discussion.
Thanks,
Pippa
