LIFE & CHEMICAL SCIENCES LIBRARIAN AT KAUST

King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) is a major
new graduate university focused on becoming a leader in science and
technology research. Located near Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the
university’s coastline campus on the Red Sea features high-quality
residences, extensive recreational facilities and beach, a
multicultural environment, and a high quality of life for employees
and their families. Its stunning library is a recipient of the 2011
AIA/ALA Library Building Award.

The University Library currently has an opening for a Science and
Technology Subject Specialist Librarian to support research and
graduate-level education in life and chemical sciences.  Major
responsibilities include providing reference and instructional
services in assigned subject areas; serving as the main contact point
between the library and relevant institutional units/users; developing
the library’s collections; and informing researchers about scholarly
communications issues.

The ideal candidate will have:
• Graduate degree in library science and/or a relevant scientific field.
• 3+ years of professional experience in an academic library.
• Experience using key research tools and resources in life sciences
and chemistry.
• Fluency in English.
