Cynthia Graham Hurd Memorial Scholarship

Springer Nature is proud to honor the legacy of Cynthia Hurd, a
dedicated librarian, whose career spanned more than 31 years in
Charleston public and academic libraries, including the St. Andrews
Regional Library and the College of Charleston. On June 17, 2015,
Cynthia Hurd was killed along with 8 other people at the historic
Emanuel AME Church. The Cynthia Graham Hurd Memorial Scholarship for
attendance to the Charleston Library Conference provides $1,500 to a
librarian who has demonstrated an active interest in the profession,
but has not had an opportunity to attend the annual gathering of
librarians due to lack of institutional funding. Deadline to enter has
been extended through Friday, September 30th
