The Montana State University Library invites applicants for Electronic
Resources and Discovery Services (ERDS) Librarian, a tenure-track
faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor.

The ERDS Librarian has primary responsibility for acquisition and
maintenance of electronic resources and for providing access to these
and other resources through the Library’s Discovery Services,
currently Primo from Ex Libris. Additionally, the Montana State
University Library recently migrated to Ex Libris’s Alma unified
resource management system along with 15 other academic libraries in
Montana.

The ERDS Librarian serves as a member of the Collection Development
Department and reports to the Head of Collection Development. The ERDS
Librarian supervises staff member time in support of ERDS, and will
participate in collaborative statewide electronic resource
development, help the public troubleshoot access issues, and
coordinate across library departments. As a member of the Library
faculty, the ERDS Librarian is expected to meet the University’s
research and service requirements for promotion and tenure.

Montana State University Library is committed to providing and
promoting information resources to ensure student and faculty success.
Our librarians are leaders in university affairs as well as within
state, regional, and national library communities.

Montana State University values a broad array of experiences and
perspectives and is committed to continually supporting, promoting and
building an inclusive and culturally rich campus environment. In
support of our campus strategic plan, which values respect for
diversity in all its dimensions, we enthusiastically encourage members
of traditionally underrepresented groups to apply. Salary is $45,000 -
50,000 annually, commensurate with experience, education, and
qualifications. Screening of applications will begin on February 22,
2017; however, applications will continue to be accepted until the
position is filled.
