Colleagues:

I am writing to encourage you to claim one of the $4,000 honoraria
being offered to create teaching materials for the education of
librarians in publishing by the end of next week. Librarians are
increasingly engaged in providing publishing services on campus, often
in partnership with university presses. Students in library schools
are also more and more interested in publishing careers.

The "Developing a Curriculum to Support Library-based Publishing"
project (IMLS, 2016-2018) invites proposals to create a curriculum to
support library-based publishers. This invitation extends to
professionals in mission-driven non-profit publishing (past or
present), LPC members/practitioners, LIS/iSchool professors, PhD
candidates, and others with an interest and/or experience in this
growing area of activity. Each proposal may be authored by an
individual or a team. The deadline for proposals is February 28, 2017.

Each proposal should focus on ONE of the following four course topics:
Policy, Content, Impact, or Sustainability.

See the Call for Authors and the Library Publishing Curriculum
Framework for more details on what each of these course topics might
include. Please submit your proposals to: [log in to unmask]

Please feel free to contact any member of the Advisory Board with questions.

Thank you for your consideration.

Charles
