Since a great deal is being said about Elsevier, I would like to
remind folks that one generous and invaluable service that has been
provided by Elsevier for years, the database Scirus, is being
withdrawn early next year and with it not only public access to a
search tool for journal and other publications from a quality search
tool, but also an unmatched search tool of the hidden and quality web,
including digital archives that does not index poor quality content on
the web.

This decision speaks very badly of the current management practices of
Elsevier, along with some other issues discussed in posts in this
thread and beyond.

This link will provide a number of examples of the use of Scirus in
comparison with other search tools
