Re-envisioning “Technical Services” to Transform Libraries

Identifying Leadership and Talent Management Best Practices

Friday, January 8, 2016, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.      Event code ALC2

How can libraries enhance and reposition their “technical services"
operations to drive ongoing library transformation?  Scholarly
communications, data curation, digital humanities, cooperative
preservation, library publishing, collaborative collection management:
all of these new functions require a talented staff with significant
technical services expertise, regardless of their titles and reporting
structure.

The symposium explores how libraries can recruit and cultivate staff
who can serve as both leaders and contributors and provide insight

for ALA members, $319 for nonmembers, and just $99 for ALA student and
ALA retired members.

To Register Online

To register online, go to http://2016.alamidwinter.org/register-now
and everyone should click on the "I am a member and would like to
register online" link.  You will be prompted to login before
proceeding to the registration form.  ALA members should login with
their ALA ID and password.  Nonmembers will need to create a guest ALA
account by clicking on the “Don’t have an ALA account? Make One!” link
in order to receive a Login ID and password.

To receive the ALCTS or ALISE member discount, ALCTS and ALISE members
should be sure to enter “ALCTS2016” in the box under “If you have a
promotional code, please enter it here.”  You must enter the code
before leaving this page.

To Register By Mail

Download the registration form here. To indicate that you are
registering for this ALCTS Symposium, you must enter the ALC2 Event
Code under Section 2. To receive the ALCTS member discount, ALCTS and
ALISE members should be sure to write in the ALCTS2016 promotional
code in Section 2 as well.

Walk-In Registration will also be available.

A Special Note to ALCTS and ALISE Members: To receive the ALCTS or
ALISE member discounted rate, ALCTS or ALISE members must mention the
ALCTS2016 promotional code when registering.  When registering online,
be sure to enter the promotional code in the “If You Have a
Promotional Code” box before you leave page 1.  When registering by
mail, write the promotional code along with the event code in Section
