8 Things I’ve Learned About the Publishing Industry Since Joining It:
A presentation from SAGE’s James Wiser, a librarian-turned publisher

For more than 12 years, James Wiser served as a librarian in both
corporate and academic settings, as well as an officer in his local
SLA chapter. In early 2013 he joined SAGE, a leading independent,
academic and professional publisher. Come to this webinar to hear his
perspective on “changing sides” and let him answer any questions you
may have about life in the vendor world.

James Wiser is the Manager of Library Relations & Sales Support at
SAGE, a position he has held since January 2013. Before coming to
SAGE, he was the Assistant Director of the Statewide California
Electronic Library Consortium (SCELC), and served as a librarian for
both Pepperdine University and General Motors. He earned an MLS from
the School of Library and Information Science at Indiana
University-Bloomington, where he currently serves as Past-President of
the school’s Alumni Association, as well as an MBA from Pepperdine
University.
