Position Title: Electronic Collections Librarian

Position Summary:

Utah State University Libraries invites applications for the position
of Electronic Collections Librarian. The successful candidate will
join a friendly, innovative, and collaborative library team committed
to open inquiry and excellent service in a popular, award-winning,
high-tech library building. Reporting to the Head of Collection
Development, this tenure-track position will provide leadership,
expertise, and excellent public service in managing the USU Libraries'
electronic collections.

Utah State University is a multi-campus land-grant institution serving

Responsibilities:

* Coordinating the selection, acquisition, and management of
electronic resources, including: selecting resources, conducting
trials, negotiating prices and licenses, managing budgets, developing
collection policy.

* Overseeing configuration and integration of various library resource
management tools and databases such as SerialsSolutions 360 Link,
Innovative *

* Interfaces electronic resource management module, and Swetswise
serials management.

* Promoting the use of electronic collections.

* Collecting and analyzing usage data.

* Providing top-level support for electronic resource troubleshooting.

* Planning for long-term preservation of purchased electronic resources.

* Applying knowledge of current issues and trends to improve workflow
and resource discovery.

* Training library staff in effectively using the electronic collections.

* Providing general reference and research assistance to library users.

* Performing collection development and instruction for an academic
department.

Minimum Qualifications:

* ALA accredited MLS degree by August 2012.

* Library experience with technical service work, including one of the
following: cataloging, systems, collection development, or
serial/electronic resources acquisitions management.

* Experience with an integrated library system such as Innovative
Interfaces Millennium.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive public service attitude.

* Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to exercise flexibility, initiative, and judgment.,

* Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work.

* Ability to meet established library criteria for promotion and tenure.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience in an academic or research library.

* Familiarity with electronic resources and serials management tools
such as III ERM, SerialsSolutions 360 Resource Manager including 360
Link, and/or the III Encore discovery layer.

* Familiarity with subscription vendors such as Swets or EBSCO.

* Familiarity with current issues in collection development and
e-resource management.

* Expertise with manipulating data in Excel.

* Experience with budgeting or invoicing.

* Experience teaching or training.

* Experience performing collection development.

* Supervisory experience.

* Experience with general reference or library instruction.

Salary: $36,500 and includes an excellent benefits package.
