Dear all,
You are invited to the free UKSG webinar: "Inclusion zone: A case
study in digital accessibility" | https://bit.ly/35iKxCX
REGISTER HERE
Date: Friday 4th December 2020
Time: 14.00 GMT (Greenwich Mean Time)
Duration: 45-60 minutes including Q&A
Presenters:
James Carr, Programme Manager, Cambridge University Press
Beverley Delaney, E-Content Advisor, Open University
Julie Elsden, Front End Developer, Cambridge University Press
Khadija Raza, Graduate, Royal Holloway University
Overview:
It’s hard to imagine our life without digital technology – at the
click of a mouse or touch of a screen, the world is at our fingertips
– that is, if you can control a mouse… and see the screen… and hear
the audio.
This session will explore what a university press and a library are
doing to support the needs of all researchers regardless of their
ability. How do students with disabilities access and read academic
research materials – what tools do they use and what challenges do
they face? How can a publisher incorporate digital accessibility into
everyday processes? How does a library help patrons with accessibility
requirements?
