Should multiple simultaneous submissions be the norm? Latest issue of
Learned Publishing now out

Author and consultant orthopaedic surgeon Malhar Kumar believes they
should, and are not unethical- might make publishers apoplectic, but
Kalmar does know the arguments against, and tries to refute them – see
what you think.

Also in the July issue of Learned Publishing are the following articles:

Ø Lay summaries of open access journal articles: engaging with the
general public on medical research by Emily Nunn and Stephen Pinfield

Ø Evaluating information seeking and use in the changing virtual
world: the emerging role of Google Analytics by D.J. Clark, David
Nicholas and Hamid R. Jamali

Ø An examination of two Indian megajournals by Jingfeng Xia

Ø Quality of author guidelines of journals in the biomedical and
physical sciences by Remya Nambiar, Priyanka Tilak and Clarinda Cerejo

Ø Barriers and opportunities for research in publishing studies by
Alison Baverstock and Jackie Steinitz

Ø Toward a scalable and sustainable approach to open access
publishing and archiving for humanities and social sciences societies:
a proposal by Rebecca Kennison and Lisa Norberg

Ø An imbalanced journal publishing market by Jingfeng Xia

See you in 3 months
