ALPSP Seminar

Book now for ...

Standing on the Digits of Giants: Research data, preservation and innovation
Tuesday 8 March, London (full day seminar)
Chair: William Kilbride, Executive Director, Digital Preservation Coalition

#alpspdata

Are you grappling with all things data? This seminar will help bring
you up-to-date with the latest theory and practice. The day will
focus on emerging scholarly communication trends for those outputs not
traditionally included within the primary scientific canon, such as
metadata, software and research data.

Our fantastic line-up of speakers will include representatives from
Data Science Journal, ORCID, Southampton University, Elsevier,
Arkivum, Digital Science and more. See below for a full list of who
is speaking.

Why attend? The practicalities associated with publishing data are
increasing in importance for everyone involved in scholarly
communications. This seminar is focussed on providing attendees with
greater insight into the latest trends associated with the digital
research record, why it’s important to engage with this issue and
practical applications, enabling attendees to develop relevant
policies and support for their authors, editors and other clients. The
event will also aim to increase knowledge and access to networks that
will support scenario-planning, product development and discussion
going forward.

Who should attend: Publishers (spanning editorial, production and
marketing staff) research managers, specialists in digital
preservation, repository managers, research funders and policy makers,
learned society representatives and research librarians and vendors.
