Has anyone had experience implementing a student portal that gives
students access to resources in advance of the semester in which the
students are actually taking classes?

Did you have issues because the students are not technically current
students? Did you have issues with students gaming the system by
registering, checking out books, downloading lots of stuff from your
databases, and then disappearing? Did you feel that giving students
access before they are current students was a violation of your
contracts?

We are working on implementing a portal before the end of the year and
would like to identify potential issues prior to that.

Thanks,
