This new posting seems to be the most inclusive of information on the
SocArxiv background, players, etc that I've seen thus far as well as
how SocArXiv fits with the COS strategy for OSF (to use as many
acrynyms as possible!):

BTW:  Anyone know who SocArXiv principals are? Vision? Funds?

And, Arun, just FYI, SSRN has been a wonderful service, but as with
all open access, the piper has to be paid by someone.  Institutional
library memberships were/are not trivial.  See:
