As a matter of convenience -- but it is part of our statutory law --
works enter the public domain on Jan 1 of the year following the
expiration of the term of copyright.  Thus, on Jan. 1, 2016, all of
the works for which the term expired in 2015 become recognized as
outside of copyright protection.
