Thank you for pointing me to Sherpa/Romeo. The original posting did
not specify the criteria for stating a title is "open access", so
I'll stand by my original posting labeling it as open access. Here's
why: from the end user point of view, the content in Acta
Orthopaedica is freely accessible to all. That is my criteria for
stating it is "open access". You can find it in PubMed Central,
DOAJ, and other listings of freely accessible journals.

Sincerely,

Dear Shirley,

Acta Orhtopaedica can not be considered an Open Access journal. Please
do check its status in Sherpa Romeo

Acta Orthopaedica published by Informa Healthcare. I don't know
anything about its funding. I'd consider it a traditional, long
standing publication. In JCR it is ranked #10 out of 65 in the
Orthopedics subject category (IF=2.736). Its previous title, Acta
Orthopaedica Scandinavica, is also freely available on the Informa
Healthcare website. The current title is also available on PMC from
2009 to the present.
