Licensing your Content  -  27 June 2018

Licensing content has rapidly become a key component of the academic
publishing environment. This full day course aimed at those with some
knowledge of copyright will give delegates a solid understanding of
the types of agreements used to license content across platforms,
relevant clauses and the current issues affecting licensing.

* Overview of licensing structures and acquiring and exploiting rights

* Ways to enter into licences

* Types of licences and agreements, whether direct with customers or third party

* Key issues with aggregators and other types of third-party vendors

* Entering into appropriate licences directly with the customer

* ‘Must-have’ clauses for the publisher and why you need them

* Clauses the customer wants to see and issues arising

* Current issues including Creative Commons licenses, author licensing and OA

* Current legal developments and protecting your rights in the online
environment.
