Degree and area of specialization:
MS/MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited institution

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Required Qualifications

- Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible professional experience
acquiring, licensing, managing and providing access to electronic
resources

- Experience working in an acquisitions module of an ILS

- Demonstrated ability to set priorities, exercise flexibility in
meeting objectives, and effectively manage multiple projects and
assignments

- Knowledge of current issues, standards, and technologies related to
acquiring, licensing and managing scholarly electronic resources

- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, organizational,
problem-solving, and communication skills, including evidence of
ability to work collegially and collaboratively within and across
organizations, as well as with vendors and publishers

- Demonstrated ability to develop, analyze, and document procedures
and work-flow

Preferred Qualifications

- Broad understanding of the electronic resource environment in an
academic library or library consortial setting

- 1 or more years of experience working with the Alma ILS

- Experience in related areas of electronic resource management, such
as cataloging or discovery systems

- Understanding of data gathering and analysis techniques to support
assessment activities and statistical analysis

Principal duties:

The Assistant Electronic Resources Acquisitions Librarian is 1 of 2
librarians and 1 university staff position which make up Licensed
Resources in Acquisitions. Licensed Resources is one of five units
within the Acquisitions Department of the Central Technical Services
Division, which serves 16 libraries comprising the General Library
System.

This position works closely with staff in Acquisitions, Cataloging,
Collection Development, Discovery, Technology, and Web Services and
plays an integral role in supporting the management of the e-resource
lifecycle, participating in activities related to licensing,
purchasing, ordering, payment, access provision, maintenance,
discovery, renewal, cancellation, and troubleshooting of the Library's
electronic resources.
