We’d like to congratulate the first graduating class of bepress’s
Scholarly Publishing Certification Course: A Training Program for
Library-led Publishing Initiatives, heldOctober 9-11 here at our
office in Berkeley. The course brought together eighteen repository
administrators with all levels of experience from institutions across
the country to participate in workshops and interactive seminars, as
well as one-on-one technical training sessions with their bepress
Consultants. Topics ranged from publishing conference proceedings and
faculty monographs, to developing copyright policies, streamlining
workflows, and building readership.

“The course assisted me in learning about all the possible publishing
opportunities with Digital Commons,” said Lucretia McCulley of the
University of Richmond. “I feel much more knowledgeable about
publishing journals, conferences, symposia, etc. It will really help
me promote the repository to my campus.”

We were thrilled with the positive response from participants. Our
next bepress University course will be held in the spring of 2014,
when we host our second IR Manager Certification Course. For more
information, please contact me or Eli Windchy ([log in to unmask]),
VP, Consulting Services.

All the best,

-Ann
