So, the problem here is what? ASCE evidently allows authors to post
Green OA versions of their papers, just not the Versions of Record.
Why is that an unreasonable position to take, since the authors did,
after all, sign contracts that transferred copyright to ASCE, which
needs to protect itself against unauthorized postings of the final
versions. Are publishers not supposed to defend their legal rights?
