Hi all,

Responding to increased student textbook costs, educators,
institutions, and even state legislators are focusing their attention
on Open Educational Resources (OER). From community colleges to large
public universities, a variety of institutions have implemented OER
initiatives with demonstrable success:

University of Massachusetts, Amherst has saved its students over $700,000

Portland State University saved its students $23,800 in the first term
of its OER program

Kaleidoscope Open Course Initiative, comprising eight colleges and
community colleges, has saved its students over $330,000

In this free webinar, Danielle Maestretti and Michelle Barron-Lutzross
of bepress Consulting Services will discuss ways to integrate OER into
the institutional repository, a strategy that allows libraries to play
a pivotal role in the success of OER on campus. We will parse recent
research on OER, describe strategies for faculty awareness and
engagement, and share examples from successful OER collections in
several IRs.
