Search Launched for New Project MUSE Director

The Johns Hopkins University Press has started a national search for
the next Director of Project MUSE. Kathleen Keane, JHU Press Director,
has convened a search committee representative of MUSE stakeholders:
Anne Marie Corrigan (University of Toronto Press), Nick Lindsay (MIT
Press), Richard Brown (Georgetown University Press), Bill Breichner
(JHU Press Journals), Tim Fuller (JHU Press Information Technology),
and Liz Mengel (JHU Libraries).

The Search Committee has advised on the position description and the
selection of a search firm, Jack Farrell & Associates, to handle
recruiting and initial candidate evaluation. The Search Committee will
next assist in identifying the top candidates to interview. The
position description can be found on the Jack Farrell & Associates web
site and on the JHU Jobs site.

As previously announced, MUSE Director Dean Smith will be leaving
Project MUSE to assume the position of Director, Cornell University
Press. Dean’s last day is March 20, after which Wendy Queen, currently
Deputy Director, will serve as Interim Director of Project MUSE. We
wish Dean much luck in his new role and look forward to a smooth
transition under Wendy's leadership.
