Dear Francois,

There is a page that was kept by Peter Suber at
https://legacy.earlham.edu/~peters/fos/timeline.htm covering open
access projects. It's not comprehensive, but I'm sure you will find a
lot of useful information there. For MDPI, you can check the history
page at http://www.mdpi.com/about/history, our first online journal
was launched in 1996.

Best wishes,
Martyn

Dear all,

I would like to know the growth of online scholarly journals before
year 2000… Which where the first to go on the web, in what year …

Does anyone know a site or a paper giving this time line from the
early years of the Web until the end of the 20. Century ?

Thanks for any information

François
