Librarians are increasingly called upon to provide new services to
researchers, including helping them to manage their online scholarly
profiles, raise the visibility of and gain recognition for their
research, and share their research impact with others. Librarians are
playing an integral role in enhancing the careers of researchers, and
researchers are interacting with librarians to learn about the range
of library services that support scientific impact. As librarians
take on these challenges, the library is also entering into
collaborations with the Research Office and at senior leadership
levels throughout the institution to offer new services to help
researchers raise their reputations.

In Journey to Research Impact, speakers will share how technology,
information and researcher metrics initiatives are currently serving
researchers and how they are contributing to the research enterprise.

Speakers:

“Rewarding the Tool Builders” - Emerging technologies and digital
initiatives to support research software developers

Christopher Erdmann, Head Librarian, Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics

“Managing Researcher Reputation and Metrics” – Tools and metrics used
to manage researcher productivity, collaboration and performance

Emily McElroy, Director of the McGoogan Library of Medicine,
University of Nebraska Medical Center

“Vision of the Researcher Journey” – An exploration of pressures upon
and the needs of researchers throughout their careers

Wouter Haak, Vice President of Product Strategy, Elsevier
