Single Title Purchasing of UPCC Books on MUSE Now Available Through YBP

Single-title purchasing of selected digital books from the University
Press Content Consortium (UPCC) on the Project MUSE platform is now
available through MUSE’s partnership with YBP Library Services. Over
14,000 UPCC titles in the humanities, social sciences, and natural
sciences may be discovered and ordered via GOBI3 (Global Online
Bibliographic Information), YBP’s acquisition and collection management
interface.

UPCC books on MUSE offer DRM-free content with unlimited simultaneous
usage, downloading, and printing; mobile accessibility on any
PDF-compatible device; perpetual access rights; and full integration with
MUSE’s extensive journal content for searching, browsing, and discovery.

Through GOBI3, YBP’s library customers may discover all the UPCC titles
offered for individual purchase, and may elect to receive new title
notification or have titles automatically delivered by the MUSE platform
through YBP’s eApproval program.

Participating publishers select the books they wish to make available via
the single title purchasing program facilitated by YBP, and set the prices
for their titles. Sixty-seven (67) university press and related scholarly
publishers are offering books for individual purchase on MUSE, from among
the 84 presses contributing to the UPCC program.

Project MUSE now provides access to well over 20,000 books from the many
distinguished academic presses participating in UPCC. Books are offered
for purchase in collections organized by subject and/or publication date,
via two subscription options (one for current titles and one featuring
backlist books), and now for single-title ordering through YBP. With this
variety of flexible acquisition options, libraries may develop a strategy
for the UPCC content that best meets local needs and budget situations.

For purchasing and program information, interested libraries should
