I just learned of a notable development at PLoS, the naming of a new
CEO. Here is PLoS's own press release:

http://blogs.plos.org/plos/2013/05/plos-appoints-elizabeth-marincola-as-chief-executive-officer/

I wonder if anyone could shed any light on this change. It's odd that
a change would occur when an organization was doing very well, as PLoS
was, or at least as I believe it was. Also noteworthy is that the CFO
is leaving immediately with the former CEO.
