I couldn't agree more. Open access only matters if the content that is
open is reliable and accurate. The same holds true of course for
traditional toll resources. If evidence mounts that more than a minute
fraction of any journal or resource is likely to be faulty, then the
whole edifice starts to come under scrutiny, as it should.

What is disappointing is that so many OA advocates seem more concerned
with protecting OA journals than with protecting readers from unreliable
science.
