I’m interested to hear from other libraries that have negotiated a
license with Copyright Clearance Center for their Get It Now service
that delivers publisher PDFs directly to users.

In particular, I’d like to know how others have addressed the
restriction that users “store the PDF provided by CCC for no longer
than 120 days (unless the rightsholder of the particular Content
specifies a longer or shorter period for storage of the electronic
copy)”  and the requirement that the library use reasonable efforts to
ensure compliance with this restriction.

Thus far CCC seems unwilling to change this clause or to accept any
language that would limit the University’s liability for users’
failure to comply, including language in the state’s contractual
provisions attachment form.

I am wondering if any of you have reviewed this license and if so,
would you be willing to contact me off-list with your thoughts and/or
advice?

Thanks,
