A few years ago I tried without success to drum up support to build a
site for curated OER materials.  The need for this is growing, as the
use of OER grows (and will continue to grow).  The problem, as I see
it, is that OER often requires a great deal of adaptation by
individual instructors, many of whom don't have the time or ability to
do this work.  A curated site would identify the good stuff and
provide guidance for instructors.  It goes without saying that the
commercial textbook publishers all do an excellent job of this.
That's why they enjoy such a wide and profitable following.
