I believe Gordon and Breach were acquired by Taylor & Francis in 2001
for $31.5 million:

Anybody remember Gordon  and Breach? Oh yeah I remember; they don't
exist anymore. Any publisher trying to sue someone for saying things
they don't like about them should look at that bit of history. Heinz
Barschall, etc. http://barschall.stanford.edu/ and that's just the US
side of the story...
