From: Joseph Esposito <[log in to unmask]> Date: Wed, 22 Feb 2012 11:14:47 -0800 I have been trying for some time now to figure out how many academic books, university press books in particular, are sold to libraries. It turns out that this is a tough problem. I just posted on this here: http://scholarlykitchen.sspnet.org/2012/02/22/hawking-radiation-figuring-out-how-many-books-are-sold-to-libraries-2/ The question comes down to how many libraries purchase books from Amazon and to what extent. Sales from other library vendors are pretty much known. But Amazon is a black hole. I would be interested to learn more about libraries' use of Amazon as a vendor. Joe Esposito -- Joseph J.
