"We are delighted to be partnering with Portico," said Tim Williams, managing director, Edward Elgar Publishing. "We consulted widely with librarians before developing Elgaronline, our new electronic book and journal platform, to ensure we created a product that met library requirements and was an easy acquisition decision. Digital preservation is clearly an important component of the additional value that libraries get when using publisher platforms and many of our largest customers work closely with Portico." Founded in 1986, Edward Elgar (http://www.e-elgar.co.uk/) is an international family-run publisher in economics, finance, business and management, law and public policy. Portico will act as a perpetual access mechanism for both Edward Elgar’s e-journals and e-books. ABOUT The Portico archive is certified as a "trustworthy digital repository" by the Center for Research Libraries; more than 15,000 e-journals, more than 170,000 e-books, and 72 d-collections have been entrusted to it.
