From: "Sterk, J.M.E." <[log in to unmask]> Date: Mon, 11 Mar 2013 14:37:13 +0000 Dear colleagues, No, for several years now we have been trying to get better conditions, but to no avail. It's not only the post-cancellation fee, but also the policy of "four rolling years" concerning not only the Nature titles but the Palgrave titles as well. We pointed out to them that their policy is exceptional compared to other publishers. Here below a few examples of the annual fees: Nature € 390 Nature res. Journals € 240 Nature Reviews € 240 NPG acad. & soc. Titles € 62 Scientific American € 240 We really consider these exorbitant costs! Kind regards from Amsterdam, José Sterk J.M.E. It is the first time that we are required to pay for post-cancellation access to subscribed and fully paid content. Moreover, it seems that this policy goes in an opposite direction with respect of those (see Elsevier, Springer, Mary Ann Liebert and others) which allow access at no additional charge to content in post-cancellation right, at least until the Licensee maintains one, current electronic subscription to content published by the Licensor (we’re still customers, since we still have a lot of current subscriptions at Nature publications). Has anyone been able to obtain better conditions from this publisher or is this the one and only policy Nature agrees to sign? I would also be glad to have your point of view in this matter. Thanks a lot in advance. With regards, Francesca Musina Francesca Musina Università degli Studi di Torino Direzione Ricerca, Relazioni Internazionali, Biblioteche e Musei Biblioteca Digitale corso S.
