From: Gail Clement <[log in to unmask]> Date: Tue, 27 Aug 2013 14:34:57 +0000 Dear Colleagues, A new posting to the 'Free US ETD's' blog provides graphics representing the incomplete coverage of American research dissertations in the PQDT database. Accompanying commentary explores the effect on that coverage of US graduate schools eliminating required submission to the database. " When Georgia Tech recently reconsidered its ETD publishing strategy by shifting to a ProQuest optional policy, a persistent concern among campus ETD stakeholders was what negative impact the University might see if their dissertations were no longer found in the ProQuest database. This proved to be an unfounded concern...." The posting is available at http://bit.ly/15c0l8J. As always, comments, criticisms and additional data are always welcome on the FUSE blog!
