From: <[log in to unmask]> Date: Thu, 25 Sep 2014 14:48:16 +0000 Publisher reaction to Swets news – De Gruyter We are aware that the timing of this announcement, coming just as the renewal season starts, makes it particularly difficult for librarians, and for the subscription agents to whom they may switch. We have already extended our grace period to the end of March 2015, in addition we are planning measures to ensure that customers retain access to our content during our forthcoming distribution change at the end of December, even if technical problems arise. These together should ensure that nobody loses access. Beyond this, our Sales and Customer Service teams will work with individual customers as required to solve problems, ensure smooth flow of information and to help maintain access to our content, even where delays may occur. Customers who are concerned or require specific information should contact the sales team or customer services http://www.degruyter.com/dg/page/126/contact-persons. We are also in close contact with all major subscription agents and will be supporting them to overcome any logistical or operational challenges as renewals get underway. We encourage librarians to maintain a dialogue with us and keep us informed of any difficulties, in which case we will do all we can to help. We recognize that is in the interests of librarians, patrons, subscription agents and publishers to work together on this issue and come together as an industry at this time.
