From: Rick Anderson <[log in to unmask]> Date: Mon, 12 Oct 2015 20:59:46 +0000 There’s been quite a bit of discussion in my library today about this document recently released by the Digital Public Library of America: http://bit.ly/dpla-partnering-metadata The sentence that is leading to lots of discussion here is this one (from the last page): “In addition, at this time DPLA does not collect items from institutional repositories (such as electronic theses or dissertations, preprints, or grey literature), or data sets.” We’re not freaking out about it, but we do find it curious. I’d be interested to hear others’ thoughts. --- Rick Anderson Assoc. Dean for Collections & Scholarly Communication Marriott Library, University of Utah [log in to unmask]
