From: "Bargheer, Margo" <[log in to unmask]> Date: Fri, 27 May 2016 10:07:58 +0000 Hello Adam, For Germany and Austria there is reliable data available on https://www.bibliotheksstatistik.de/ All menues and data in German only, sorry, plus -- as usual with such large data collection -- that the reporting schemes for libraries aren't standardised to perfection. But as the libraries as individual data providers usually apply their own standards to their reporting the collected data should allow you to extrapolate reliable trends. I would be interested to have some definite and reliable data on the relative balance between these two types of expenditure over the last 5, 10, 20 or 30 years. I would be interested in the trends by global total, by major regions or countries, or even for specific universities. The global trend would be particularly interesting but I guess it may be hard to discern. I have not been very successful at trying to pinpoint such data sources from Google -- but I am sure some members of the community know exactly where such data can be found. Thanks adam Adam Hodgkin
