Library Marketing Strategy and Communication ● Own and execute vision for library outreach (communication, exhibits, library user experience, etc.); lead strategic planning and develop a strategic roadmap, business plan, and calendar for efforts with consideration to how this efforts support the Press’ larger strategic goals ● Lead bimonthly library marketing meeting with stakeholders from Marketing and Sales; develop and prioritize agenda. Lead team to actionable decisions, hold team members accountable for meeting deadlines ● Expand and implement marketing strategy for single title e-book sales to libraries through third-party vendors ● Stay abreast of developments in the library community; propose and implement new marketing strategies based on market demands ● Develop vision and strategy for library and mathematics exhibits. Travel to conferences as needed; represent the Press in institutional and consortial sales meetings and in meetings with vendors as needed. Work with marketing designer to develop materials ● Propose, develop, and implement direct outreach to institutions in coordination with department’s overall goals and annual marketing plan ● Develop new audiences for library marketing; work with sales team on prospecting and segmentation. Track results of initiatives and evaluate effectiveness ● Plan and implement region-specific strategies to promote sales and usage of electronic collections and single titles through sales agents; coordinate with marketing designer on the production of promotional materials Brand manager for digital collections ● Oversee marketing and advertising activities to ensure consistent, effective brand expression in language and visual design ● Collaborate with sales team to develop and articulate brand strategy based on the brand's vision, mission, and goals ● Translate brand strategies into marketing and community engagement activities ● Research and analyze how our digital collection brands are positioned in the market and in consumers' minds ● Monitor market trends to identify new opportunities for building a brand's profile ● Project manage development or expansion of brands when we launch new products Market research and product development ● Identify potential products, collaborating with Marketing and Sales Director and sales team ● Serve as project manager for research and development of new products, coordinating with Accounting, Customer Relations, Sales, Marketing, and other teams as needed ● Coordinate market research through Library Advisory Board engagements, forums at conferences, one-on-one interviews, surveys, etc. ● Serve as expert on user behavior and experience for product development; stay abreast of market trends ● Determine likeliness of success for product; make recommendation to Marketing and Sales Director and sales team ● Work with web coordinator to develop pages to support new products ● Conduct yearly assessment of product success, evaluate effectiveness, and recommend changes if necessary; work with data specialists on analysis Supervision ● Supervise work of Marketing and Sales Associate, a position that provides support across the Marketing and Sales group, in library marketing and product development ● Oversee this individual’s work making reservations and coordinating logistics and shipments for library and math exhibits ● Provide guidance for prioritization of projects across the group Budget ● Develop and manage library marketing budget projections ● Develop and manage Project Euclid marketing budget ● Administer, track, and manage Project Euclid marketing expense budget in SAP; report quarterly to the Project Euclid Manager Web Content: Library Resource Center ● Own vision for the Library Resource Center; work with web coordinator to develop new content ● Coordinate with stakeholders to update copy and other information ● Serve as expert on user experience for librarians and users; represent these perspectives to the web team Project management ● Serve as project manager for department-, division- and Press-wide projects as needed Other ● Serve on committees as needed Education/Training Work requires communications and marketing skills normally acquired through a bachelor's degree in a related field. Experience Work generally requires two years related experience in advertising, marketing, media, promotions, graphic arts or public relations.
