Toby & All: - who else offers a Fremium service apart from OCED,
Revues.org, and Open Editions? National Academy (US), World Bank, and
maybe Knowledge Unlatched come to mind. There must be more, with
various goals? Ann Okerson

Jean-Claude,

I don’t, the model I laid out is freemium (in that a basic service is
provided free of charge and the cost of providing it would be drawn
from the revenues earned from premium services). I am well aware of
Revues.org and of related efforts by Open Editions; Pierre Mounier and
I often compare notes because we also use a freemium model at OECD.
Part of my motivation in writing the article was to raise awareness
that freemium could be a viable model to advance the open access
process.

Best regards

Toby

Toby,

How would you distinguish your model from that of Revues.org known as
"Freemium"? http://lettre-cdf.revues.org/1238
