Ithaca College seeks an energetic, forward thinking and service-oriented colleague to join our staff as the Electronic Resources Librarian.  This position plays a key role in the library's commitment to creating an organization that is receptive to innovation, recognized for efficient management, and focused on continuous improvement in our services, resources, and facility.


The Electronic Resources Librarian has leadership responsibility for managing electronic resource acquisitions, maintenance, delivery, and evaluation.  The ER Librarian participates in initiatives to enhance the discovery and use of library resources to meet user needs.  They collaborate with library staff in the enhancement and maintenance of information in the Library’s Unified Resource Management System and other internal and external data management tools.  In addition to monitoring trends and emerging issues in electronic resources, this position contributes to the success of public services, participating in content development and research assistance.   Responsibilities include the supervision of one staff position.

Required qualifications:  MLS or MLIS from an ALA-accredited school. Familiarity with standards for acquisition, access, and use of electronic resources and emerging technologies. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize work to ensure that Library goals are realized in an established timeframe.


Preferred qualifications: Experience working with licensed electronic resources in a library environment. Familiarity with linking technology (OpenURL, Z39.50, etc.) and authentication protocols. Familiarity with a URM (unified resource management system), link resolvers, data analysis, and institutional repositories. Familiarity with HTML, MARC/Bibframe, XML, PHP, SPSS or R.


Minimum salary:  $54,000
