The report should cover areas such as: legal guidelines on research sharing, types of agreements that can be reached with publishers, types of agreements with digital repositories, rights retention advisory, advice on contract signings, use of embargo periods, advice on receipt of take down notices to libraries and scholars, and recognition of article versions that might be posted without copyright violation. The study aims to show how higher education institutions, particularly large research universities, are advising and educating faculty on the emerging world of research sharing. The study should include 4 detailed profiles of libraries or university senior counsel, and will also include a literature review with detailed author commentary and bibliography.
