To all QOAM supporters and followers,
Quality Open Access Market – QOAM – has changed course, from now on concentrating solely on academic authors who are prepared to share their experience with editorial boards and peer review processes. The analysis of journal web sites by libraries has been discarded as this has proven not to be successful. Publication fees, both list prices and institutional discounts, will remain included. The new version of QOAM has been launched last week.
QOAM is now a straightforward ‘Think, Check, Submit’ tool. Publishers may use it to invite their authors to give calibrated feedback (QOAM has a straightforward group invitation tool) and then include the scores into their own database (QOAM’s data can be freely mined). Libraries may use it to set up QOAM corners, which are bespoke market places for their clientele, e.g. for a project team, an institution, or a conference, and funders may use it to compare prices. First and foremost, however, QOAM is meant as a go-to tool for authors looking for a journal to submit their article to, and set up their personal list of preferred journals in myQOAM.
