We are trying to add a new online streaming concert service for our library. However, the license very firmly states that no one under the age of majority (18 here in the U.S.) can register to use the service. Date of birth is one piece of info which must
be provided in order for a user to register to use the service.
When I was a college freshman, I was 17 for the first few weeks, and some of my classmates did not turn 18 until after the end of the fall semster. I even have a friend who went to college at age 15 (and is now a physicist -- she's incredibly bright).
I know other libraries are using this service, and perhaps other similar services. What are you doing about your students who are not yet 18 but need to use the service for their classes?
Thanks!
Karin
