As the library, publishing, and research communities continue to experiment with and implement business models to support and sustain OA content, it is indeed important to preserve OA publishers. Portico is currently preserving the content from 309 Open Access publishers, and we provide access to 114 of journals that are no longer available through other digital platforms.
At Portico, we believe that it is important for all of us, as a community, to determine what OA content is most valuable to libraries and end-users and should therefore be prioritized for preservation. Because it is not possible to preserve everything, it is important to share our views on what is most important to preserve. We welcome input from our colleagues in the library community in order to move forward effectively to preserve more of this content.
