Good morning colleagues,

In a major and exciting development in Texas, I am delighted to share this morning’s press release in which University of Texas System Chancellor James B. Milliken announced that all 14 institutions will join the Texas Library Coalition for United Action to rethink how university libraries collectively can improve access to faculty research and to push for changes to the costly subscription models offered by publishers of academic journals.

Through this action the Coalition is now 41 members strong making it the largest and most diverse consortium of its kind and giving it significant negotiating power.
